Where Adventures Begin
The West Country is one of the greatest undiscovered areas in Alberta. Everything from pristine wilderness
to all the comforts of home is available to you, our guests, so come and explore the area of Bearberry.
Bearberry is located 25 km west of Sundre at the base of the foothills in southwest Central Alberta and on the east border at the Banff National Park.
Bearberry has a connector road to the Forestry Trunk Road from where you can drive as far as Grand Pairie in the North or to the Kananaskis Country in the South.
Possibly the bears and the berries helped to give this hamlet the name of Bearberry. Our valleys and foothills stretch for miles towards the mountains, where frosted peaks glisten in the sunshine. Here wild horses mingle with the moose, deer and elk.
Black bear also roam the forest floor and chattering little squirrels peek from the branches of tall spruce and pine.
Our little corner of Alberta is very beautiful any season of the year and there are uncountable opportunities for recreational activities.
We have an excellent Community Hall, which is used and can be rented for different occasions - The Bearberry Wapitana Society is organizing all kind of different events and other gatherings for entertainment. Sometimes the Hall is overflowing with local people for a concert or some good suppers, or just a get-together.
If you like to get to know some of our local artists, just let us know and we will arrange a visit in their studio.
